Stagecoach Inn Museum - Newbury Park

Conejo Valley Historical Society

The original Stagecoach Inn, built in 1876, was located at the southwest corner of Ventu Park Road and the Ventura Freeway. The hotel, originally named the Grand Union Hotel,  served as a stagecoach stop for Coast Stage Line from 1887 to 1901 and was the first commercial building constructed in the Conejo Valley. The stage line carried both passengers and mail. It was declared a historical landmark in 1965 and was destroyed by a fire in 1970. The Conejo Valley Historical Society was instrumental in raising the funds to rebuild the Stagecoach Inn to appear as it did back in 1876. Today, the Stagecoach Inn is a museum operated by volunteers and the Conejo Valley Historical Society. A docent council was formed and tours are given.

The goal was to raise money in order to save the Stagecoach Inn. Today, the event is staged annually and offers residents an opportunity to recognize two citizens with a history of outstanding community service as Don and Dona Triunfo. Funds continue to be raised to support the Stagecoach inn Museum in Newbury Park.
