Oxnard Plain



The Oxnard Plain is a large coastal plain located in southwest Ventura County adjacent to the Santa Monica Mountains, the Santa Susana Mountains, and Oak Ridge on the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west and south. The Oxnard Plain makes up the western portion of the Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura Metropolitan Area. It includes the cities of Oxnard, Camarillo, Port Hueneme, Ventura, and Santa Paula. The Santa Clara River flows through the Oxnard Plain to the Pacific Ocean.


Calleguas Creek Site

The Calleguas Creek Site refers to a 1.4 acre archeological site on the Oxnard Plain and Calleguas River near Oxnard in Ventura County. The site was once home to five Chumash Indian Villages and burial sites. Its location has not been made available to the public while archeological exploration continues.


Channel Islands Beach

Channel Islands Beach is an unincorporated community along the coastal edge of the Oxnard Plain in Ventura County, California made up of three neighborhoods: Silver Strand Beach, Hollywood by the Sea, and Hollywood Beach. The 1.3 mile long strip of ocean front property is separated by the mouth of Channel Islands Harbor. Many of the homes have excellent views of the ocean, the harbor, and the Channel Islands.
