Studio City is an affluent residential community in the San Fernando Valley which is located within the City of Los Angeles. Ventura Boulevard is the principal commercial corridor. To the north is Valley Village, to the west is Sherman Oaks, to the east is Toluca Lake, and to the south is Beverly Glen and Trousdale Estates. Most of Studio City is located in the northeastern foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Studio City Recreation Center
The Studio City Recreation Center, also known as Beeman Park, features an auditorium, a lighted baseball diamond, lighted basketball courts, tennis courts, a children's play area, picnic tables, barbeque pits, and plenty of shade trees and open space.
Laurel Canyon Park
Laurel Canyon Park is a large public park located in the hills of Studio City, south of Mulholland Drive and just west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Mount Olympus in the Hollywood Hills is to the east. The park is operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
Fryman Canyon Park
Fryman Canyon Park is a 122 acre public park located in Studio City, within the San Fernando Valley and the eastern Santa Monica Mountains. The Dearing Trail traverses the park connecting it to Wilacre Park, Coldwater Canyon Park, and Franklin Canyon Park. The park is absolutely beautiful with year round springs and deep wooded canyons. Fryman Canyon Park also offers spectacular views. The trails are open to hikers and equestrians only.
Franklin Canyon Park
Franklin Canyon Park is a public park in Los Angeles consisting of 605 acres between the San Fernando Valley and Beverly Hills. The park includes more than five miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, and a three acre lake. Trails from Franklin Canyon Park lead to Fryman Canyon Park, Coldwater Park, and Wilacre Park in Studio City. The entrance is south of Mulholland Drive and west of Coldwater Canyon Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Franklin Canyon Reservoir
Franklin Canyon Reservoir is a three acre lake located south of Studio City, and just north of Beverly Hills in the Santa Monica Mountains within the City of Los Angeles. The small lake is part of Franklin Canyon Park and is surrounded by hundreds of mature trees. It is an excellent location for picnics, hiking, and family gatherings.
Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook
The Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook is a local overlook in Studio City, on the north side of Mulholland Drive, where much of the San Fernando Valley can be viewed. Fryman Canyon Park, Coldwater Canyon Park, and Wilacre Park can all be accessed from the overlook.
Wilacre Park is a 128 acre public park located in Studio City within the San Fernando Valley and the eastern Santa Monica Mountains. It is maintained by the Santa Monica
MountainsConservancy. Wilacre Park provides access to both the Dearing Trail and the Cross Mountain Park trail system leading to Fryman Canyon Park, Coldwater Park, and Franklin Canyon Park. The entry to the park is near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Fryman Road, approximately one-half mile south of Ventura Boulevard. The park, which is the former estate of silent movie star Will Acres, offers a peaceful, quiet location and great views of the San Fernando Valley.
Universal City Overlook
The Universal City Overlook is a local overlook in Studio City, on the north side of Mulholland Drive. Studio City is in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. The overlook was developed in 1984 with funds contributed by Universal Studios. The overlook provides great views of the San Fernando Valley and Verdugo Hills.
Barbara A. Fine Overlook at the Summit
The Barbara A. Fine Overlook is located on the north side of Mulholland Drive in Studio City which is in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. The overlook provides spectacular views of Fryman Canyon, the San Fernando Valley, the Simi Hills, and the San Gabriel Mountains.
Dixie Canyon Park
Dixie Canyon Park is a heavily wooded, 20 acre park in Studio City located at the end of Dixie Canyon Place. It has a hiking only trail, beautiful trees, wildlife, and a perennial stream that meanders through the center of the canyon.
Weddington Golf and Tennis Club
The Weddington Golf and Tennis Club in Studio City offers 16 tennis courts, a 24 stall driving range, a 9 hole 3 par golf course, and a full menu coffee shop. Lessons are available and the golf course has lighting for night playing. The popular facility is privately owned and open to the public.
Laurel Canyon Association
The Laurel Canyon Association is an association of residents whose goal is to promote the welfare of the residents by preserving its residential character.
Mulholland Tennis Club
The Mulholland Tennis Club, established in 1966, is a private member owned club offering tennis, dining and banquet accommodations, a beautiful club lounge, a fitness room, a beautiful pool, spa, saunas, a children’s play area, and locker rooms. The views from Mulholland Tennis Club are absolutely stunning. The club is located at 2555 Crest View Drive in the Hollywood Hills West section of Los Angeles just south of Mulholland Drive, east of Coldwater Canyon, and west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Studio City and Fryman Canyon Park are to the north, the Trousdale Estates section of Beverly Hills is to the southwest, Laurel Canyon Park and Mount Olympus are to the east.
Campo de Cahuenga - Studio City
Campo de Cahuenga was an adobe ranch house near the Cahuenga Pass in the Studio City community of Los Angeles where the Treaty of Cahuenga was signed in 1847, ending the war between the United States and Mexico. The original adobe was demolished in 1900 and later rebuilt following an effort by the San Fernando Valley Historical Society. It is now a park and a California Historical Landmark. The Campo de Cahuenga is not the same as the nearby Rancho Cahuenga which is in Burbank.
Studio City Chamber of Commerce
The Studio City Chamber of Commerce serves its member businesses in Studio City and the surrounding San Fernando Valley communities, including Sherman Oaks, Bel Air, Toluca Lake, and Valley Village.
The Sportsmen’s Lodge is a landmark hotel in Studio City built in the 1880’s before the movie industry existed. It was originally called “Hollywood Trout Farms” because of its proximity to the Los Angeles River, natural springs, and numerous man-made ponds where visitors fished for trout. Later in the 1930s and 1940s, its name was changed to “Trout Lakes.” After World War II, its name was changed to the Sportsmen’s Lodge. Soon after the war, in 1945, the lodge became a popular gathering place for Hollywood actors and crew including John Wayne, Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, Clark Gable, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and others. The Sportsmen’s Lodge remains a popular place for dining, banquets, lodging, and special events. The Sportsmen’s Lodge is only minutes away from Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood.
